Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer | Contract

Own the AWS platform engineering for a high-performing team that moves quickly and expects real ownership from day one.

You'll design, build, and maintain secure, highly available AWS environments across a complex enterprise setup. Day-to-day that means writing reusable Terraform and CloudFormation, running EKS clusters, and keeping CI/CD pipelines healthy across infrastructure and application deployments.

This is a contract role, so you're coming in to do the work. There's no lengthy onboarding runway or committee approval for every decision. You'll work directly with infrastructure, networking, security, and software engineering teams, which means your work gets seen and your input gets heard. The stack is current: Terraform, EKS, Docker, GitHub Actions or equivalent, and the full suite of core AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancing.

The environment suits someone who's come from a large enterprise and knows how to operate at that scale, but doesn't want to be slowed down by it. Automation is a genuine priority here, not an afterthought. You'll also get to contribute to platform architecture decisions and mentor team members, so there's depth to the role beyond execution.

What You'll Do

• Design and build secure, highly available AWS environments and develop reusable IaC using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Deploy and support Kubernetes (EKS) environments for containerised workloads running on Docker.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Harness to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
• Drive automation across provisioning and operations while contributing to cloud standards, platform architecture, and team capability.

What You'll Need

• Hands-on AWS platform engineering experience in enterprise environments, covering EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancing.
• Strong Kubernetes (EKS) experience and proven IaC delivery using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Harness, plus solid scripting in Bash and/or Python.
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a bonus, as is familiarity with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or Lambda.
