DevSecOps AI Melb and Sydney

Permanent

About this role

DevSecOps engineer with a strong AI focus, two roles open across Melbourne and Sydney.

You'll embed security into the full software development lifecycle while building and maintaining AI-driven tooling that automates threat detection, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks. This sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, application security, and machine learning, so the work is genuinely varied.

The team is building modern pipelines with CI/CD at the centre, and AI isn't a buzzword here. You'll be writing and tuning models that actually do security work, not just sitting in meetings about it. The stack is cloud-native, and both Melbourne and Sydney roles are permanent positions with real investment behind them.

These are senior-enough roles that you'll have genuine input into how security is architected, not just executing someone else's decisions. If you've been wanting to apply machine learning to real security problems rather than theoretical ones, this is a credible place to do that. The work spans cloud platforms, container security, and the kind of automation that actually reduces toil.

What You'll Do

  • Integrate security tooling across CI/CD pipelines, covering static analysis, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
  • Build and maintain AI models that detect anomalies, flag vulnerabilities, and support automated compliance reporting.
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure security across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including identity, networking, and workload protection.
  • Work with development and platform teams to define security standards and review architecture before it ships.

What You'll Need

  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, and container security with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI or machine learning to security use cases, including anomaly detection or automated threat analysis.
  • Strong cloud security skills across at least one major provider, with knowledge of IAM, network segmentation, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
  • Scripting or development ability in Python, Go, or similar, enough to build and maintain your own tooling.

About the Company

They're a technology-focused organisation with engineering teams across Melbourne and Sydney. Security is treated as a first-class engineering concern here, and the AI investment is genuine. Both offices are active, and the teams are staffed to do the work properly.
