DevOps Tech Lead

Lead a major cloud platform initiative at an enterprise scale, hands-on AWS delivery, onshore and offshore teams, Melbourne hybrid.

You'll take end-to-end ownership of DevOps and cloud platform delivery across a complex enterprise environment. That means technical direction across multiple workstreams, mentoring offshore engineers, and working directly with architects, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to get things shipped from planning through to production.

This is a six-month contract with genuine extension potential, based in Melbourne on a hybrid arrangement with some onsite presence required. The tech environment is mature and enterprise-grade. You'll be working across AWS, Jenkins and/or Harness for CI/CD, Terraform and/or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code, and Bash/Shell scripting for automation. Docker and Kubernetes are in the mix too.

The role sits at the intersection of hands-on delivery and technical leadership. You won't be managing people from a distance. You'll be in the work, making decisions, unblocking teams, and owning outcomes. It's a senior role at an organisation running at real scale, which means the problems are genuinely complex and the decisions you make carry weight across the platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead DevOps and cloud platform delivery across multiple workstreams from planning through to production deployment.
• Design, implement, and support secure, highly available AWS environments aligned to security and governance requirements.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or Harness, and develop reusable Terraform and/or CloudFormation infrastructure modules.
• Coordinate and mentor onshore and offshore engineering teams, managing risks, dependencies, and blockers across delivery streams.

What You'll Need

• Extensive hands-on AWS experience across enterprise-scale environments, including cloud platform design and operational support.
• Proven CI/CD pipeline experience using Jenkins and/or Harness, with strong Bash/Shell scripting and IaC skills in Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and monitoring and observability tooling.
• Background working in large enterprise or financial services environments, with a track record of owning technical delivery outcomes.
