Technical Business Analyst PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The primary purpose of a Technical Business Analyst is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They work closely with IT teams, developers, and system architects to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications. A strong understanding of systems, data structures, APIs, and software development processes, enabling them to support solution design, integration, and implementation.
Ensuring that the technical aspects of a project align with business goals, particularly in technology-driven initiatives such as system upgrades, data migrations, or software development projects.
Requirements
Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document detailed technical and functional requirements · Technical Documentation: Create system specifications, data flow diagrams, interface designs, and integration requirements · Solution Design Support: Work closely with developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure solutions meet business and technical needs · System & Data Analysis:Analyse existing systems, databases, and APIs to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement · Testing & Validation:Assist in developing test cases, performing system testing, and validating that technical solutions meet business requirements · Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders · Change Management Support:Contribute to change impact assessments and support implementation planning for technical solutions. DECISION MAKING AND JUDGEMENT The position holder, · Has autonomy in coordinating and managing their work and makes decisions on matters under their direct control with guidance of overall project priority and timeline by the Manager. · Required to independently undertake research, develop solution and present to stakeholders for varied range of project initiatives and complex business issues · Discretion in deciding how a task will be conducted, including decisions on how and who to consult REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to: ICT Program Director The positions that report directly to this position are: Nil.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS (MANDATORY) · Experience with SQL, API scripting, snowflake, AWS and testing – Data migration and API focused o Experience with AWS, Snowflake platforms, APIs and Oracle. o Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, or custom SQL-based pipelines). o Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake-specific features, and data profiling tools.
o Ability to work with reverse engineering tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or open-source alternatives).
Skills
in developing and implementing project management plans and continually monitor and manage project and/or program schedules to ensure the success of the project.
