Role details
Build customer-facing web applications for a financial services team running React, TypeScript, and AWS on a contract basis.
You'll design and build responsive, customer-facing UIs using React and TypeScript, contribute to the Java and Spring Boot services sitting behind them, and work directly with Product and UX to shape end-to-end delivery. This is a senior role, so you'll also be guiding less experienced developers and setting the bar on engineering practices across the team.
The stack is modern throughout. React, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS are all in daily use, with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices already in place. You won't be building processes from scratch, you'll be stepping into a functioning team and lifting the quality of what ships.
Financial services experience is genuinely valued here. The applications are customer-facing and the expectations around reliability and polish are high. If you've also had exposure to AI or LLM-enabled features, that's worth mentioning, though it's not a hard requirement for the role.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain responsive, customer-facing web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern HTML/CSS.
- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs supporting the front end.
- Work closely with Product, UX, and business teams to deliver features from brief through to production.
- Lead technical initiatives, review code, and mentor developers to lift engineering standards across the team.
What You'll Need
- Strong React, TypeScript, and JavaScript experience building production-grade, customer-facing web applications.
- Full-stack background covering Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API design.
- Hands-on AWS experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Financial services or banking industry experience is highly desirable.
