Build customer-facing web applications for a financial services team that's serious about engineering quality.
You'll take ownership of front end architecture across a suite of customer-facing products, working across the full stack when needed. Day-to-day that means React and TypeScript on the front, Java and Spring Boot on the back, and close coordination with Product and UX to get things shipped properly.
This is a contract role, so you'll have flexibility in how you structure your time. The team runs modern CI/CD pipelines on AWS, which means less time fighting infrastructure and more time writing code that matters. You'll be working with people who care about reusable components, clean APIs, and doing things right the first time.
Financial services moves at its own pace, and there's real complexity in the domain. That's actually what makes the work interesting here. You'll have genuine influence over technical direction, and there's room to mentor developers around you if that's something you want to do. If you've been tinkering with AI or LLM-enabled tooling on the side, that's a bonus they'd be glad to hear about.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain responsive, customer-facing web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern HTML/CSS.
- Develop back end services and REST APIs with Java, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture.
- Own CI/CD pipelines and AWS infrastructure, keeping deployments clean and reliable.
- Lead technical initiatives, set engineering standards, and support less experienced developers on the team.
What You'll Need
- Strong front end development skills in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Back end experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API design.
- Hands-on AWS experience and comfort working within CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
- Financial services or banking industry background is highly desirable.
