Own the data infrastructure for one of Australia's most recognised airlines, at serious scale.
You'll design, build, and maintain cloud-based data platforms that support the airline's operations, analytics, and customer experience. That means working across ingestion, storage, transformation, and orchestration. You'll be hands-on with the architecture and close to the data that drives decisions across the business.
The environment here is genuinely large-scale. We're talking millions of passengers, complex operational data, and a modern cloud stack. You'll be working alongside engineers who take their craft seriously, with access to the tooling and infrastructure budget that a business of this size can actually support.
There's real scope to shape how data engineering is done here. The team is invested in getting the architecture right, and you'll have the autonomy to bring your experience to bear on real problems. You won't be maintaining legacy systems for the sake of it. The work is current, the stack is cloud-native, and the problems are genuinely interesting at this scale.
What You'll Do
- Design and build scalable data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and delivery layers.
- Architect cloud infrastructure for data workloads, including storage, compute, and orchestration services.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to deliver reliable, production-grade data products.
- Define and uplift engineering standards, including CI/CD practices, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience as a cloud data engineer or cloud platform engineer, with a strong focus on data workloads.
- Hands-on skills across a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data tooling such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, or similar.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, and familiarity with containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, pipeline architecture, and production operations at scale.
