Role details
Build the PMO function from scratch on a multi-year energy retail transformation replacing CRM, call centre, and pricing platforms across 660,000 customer accounts.
You'll own the delivery architecture for Project Nova, a program replacing core CRM, call centre technology, and product and pricing platforms via global partner Kaluza, while a parallel internal engineering team builds a proprietary data platform, marketing technology, customer-facing apps, and payment integrations. Four concurrent work streams, no existing PMO infrastructure, and a direct line to senior leadership locally and globally.
The initial engagement is a day rate contract to end of year, up to $1,300 per day, with a clear conversion pathway to a fixed-term role running through to approximately late 2028. That's up to three years on one program, which is rare. The hybrid arrangement is three days on site, giving you genuine access to the people making decisions rather than managing everything through a screen.
This isn't a role where someone hands you a governance framework and asks you to maintain it. You're designing the delivery model, the team structure, and the ways of working during mobilisation. You'll hold Kaluza accountable to scope and commitments, manage a blended talent pool spanning internal staff, contractors, and an offshore delivery centre, and coordinate end-to-end testing planning as satellite systems come online alongside the core platform. The program has executive visibility and global reach. If you want to build something that lasts and see it through to go-live, the runway is there.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain the end-to-end delivery schedule across four parallel work streams, keeping interdependencies and milestones visible and achievable.
- Model program costs and lead workforce planning across internal, contractor, fixed-term, and offshore resourcing channels against the approved business case.
- Own the risk, decision, dependency, and action registers, actively resolving issues rather than logging and waiting.
- Manage delivery accountability with Kaluza and coordinate integration and end-to-end testing planning across the full program estate.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience leading PMO or program management functions on large-scale technology transformation programs with multiple concurrent work streams.
- Demonstrated ability to build detailed delivery schedules from scratch across programs involving a major third-party implementation partner alongside internal engineering build.
- Commercial acumen to model program costs, assess sourcing trade-offs, and present resourcing recommendations tied to a business case.
- Experience holding third-party delivery partners accountable in integration-heavy environments, with workforce planning across onshore and offshore talent pools.
