Role details
Define the AIOps capability architecture for a large-scale telecommunications or network operations environment, from blueprint to delivery.
You'll own the strategy, architecture, and operating model for AIOps across observability, data, automation, control loops, and AI-driven network operations. Day to day, that means leading maturity assessments, running gap analyses across tools and operational processes, and translating findings into prioritised roadmaps. You'll work across Architecture, OSS, Engineering, and Digital teams to validate use cases and keep delivery on track.
This is a senior design role with real strategic weight. You're setting the standards that distributed teams across the organisation will build to, covering telemetry, data quality, automation, AI integration, and interoperability across OSS/BSS and network platforms. The work sits at the intersection of AI/ML, network operations, and enterprise architecture, so you'll need to be comfortable moving between technical depth and executive-level direction.
The environment is large-scale and complex, which means the problems are genuinely interesting and the decisions you make have broad reach. You'll manage vendor and industry relationships, present to senior audiences, and shape how the organisation thinks about AIOps adoption over the long term. There's autonomy here to define frameworks from the ground up rather than inherit someone else's half-finished model.
What You'll Do
- Define and evolve the AIOps capability architecture, operating model, and blueprint across observability, automation, control loops, and AI-driven network operations.
- Lead capability maturity assessments and gap analyses, translating findings into prioritised remediation plans and target-state roadmaps.
- Establish enterprise standards and governance for telemetry, data quality, AI integration, and interoperability across OSS/BSS and network platforms.
- Influence senior stakeholders, manage strategic vendor relationships, and drive organisational adoption of AIOps capabilities.
What You'll Need
- Extensive experience in network operations, OSS/BSS, platform engineering, or telecommunications technology strategy, with solid grounding in AIOps, observability, and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to design capability architectures, operating models, and technology blueprints in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML integration patterns, telemetry frameworks, data pipelines, and automation design principles for network operations.
- Proven experience leading capability gap assessments, defining use case roadmaps, and establishing governance frameworks across distributed teams and platforms.
About the Company
They operate at significant scale in the telecommunications or network operations space, running complex OSS/BSS environments across distributed infrastructure. The team is investing seriously in AIOps maturity and looking for someone to define what that looks like end to end.
