About the Work
To help us achieve our vision, we are looking for someone to fill a key role on the team. We need a seasoned and motivated Senior iOS engineer to join us and help craft the future of Liven.
Our mobile apps are front and centre of Liven’s customer experience. It needs to be reliable, responsive, and a beautiful experience. People use Liven to engage with and discover places to eat and drink across Australia, and soon, the world. We also enable merchants to build relationships with their customers through the app and to provide their loyal supporters with perks and bonuses.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design and development of the Liven iOS app. You’ll be engaging with our leadership, product management, core engineering, marketing, and growth teams to integrate and release new features for Liven, and be instrumental in ensuring that our architecture is rock solid. We treasure innovation, initiative, and inspiration, and you’ll be given a ton of autonomy and ownership of the app. You’ll be thinking both inside and outside of the proverbial box and have the opportunity to work with technologies as diverse as blockchain, financial services, food service, and customer engagement.
We write our iOS app in Swift, but we’re expecting some legacy knowledge of Objective-C as well.

This role is open to applicants Australia-wide with a distributed working environment. We have clusters of folks in Melbourne and Sydney in particular, and office space in each, but we are flexible with your location.
You are a strong innovator, able to build technology roadmaps for the app, and deliver on a consistent basis. You will have leadership skills and be able to communicate with others successfully, whether you agree with their approach or not, and make good arguments in support of your opinions. You have the confidence to make recommendations on architecture, infrastructure, and design to your team and leadership. You’ll need to be able to collaborate freely, and be willing to do what it takes to get the job done. You’re outcome focused, and technically adventurous.
You will drive our iOS and mobile presence and be responsible for the Liven iOS app. With understanding of Apple design principles and the App Store processes, you’ll help us continue to be an app that people love and engage with.
